Description: Grimshaw Hackathon lite hosted by Digital Futures and Grimshaw Architects is a one day event where select Undergraduate Architecture students will have the opportunity to work directly with a diverse group of innovators, developers, and experts in computational design. Students will be challenged to work collaboratively towards pushing their own designs into new territories, adopting contemporary emerging workflows, and develop new digital toolsets to augment their process. Through this process students will be exposed to the prolific open source collaborative culture of computational design within architecture and engineering community. Highlighting this, the 12 hour event will feature a continuous series of workshops and presentations on new methods for design, development, and delivery of contemporary architecture projects and software by the architects, engineers, and consultants at the forefront of their development.

Application:

Due to limited capacity, only 40 seats are available to current Pratt Institute Undergraduate Architecture Students. 

Participants will be selected based on submission of a single letter page pdf submission containing the following:

  • Full Name
  • Email Address
  • Current Academic Level
  • 150 Word Description of Reason for Interest or Goals
  • 4 Select Images

Applications need to be emailed to info@digitalfutures.info by Wednesday Novemeber 4th at 12pm est

Applicants will be notified of selection status via email on Nov. 8th.

Requirements: Participants are required to bring a their own laptop and download and install all software and plugins before arrival.
