Structural Performance

Description:
This workshop will serve as an introduction to performance driven structural design using Karamba and Millipede, two structural analysis plugins for Grasshopper.  The exercises will demonstrate how to properly model structural systems for accurate analysis, and how to use high level analysis feedback to drive the design process.  The content will progress from simple beam analysis, on to single structural bay and long span roof truss examples, and will conclude with topology optimization experiments in Millipede.

Software:
Rhino 5.0,  Grasshopper, Karamba , Millipede

Requirements:
Participants are required to bring a laptop with Rhino 5.0 and the latest version of Grasshopper installed, to download and install Karamba (Free version) and Millipede, and to download the Resources package below prior to the workshop.
