Workshop 03
Parametric / Performance Modeling
Part 03: Ecotect + Grasshopper + Geco
Location: HHS 111
Date + Time: 2013.03.02, 12-3pm
Conductor: Sebastian Misiurek + Scott Sorenson
Requirements: Participants must bring a laptop with the following software installed prior to the workshop:
- Rhino 5 (Evaluation Copy)
- Grasshopper build 1.0 (0.9.0014) (Link to latest version)
- Ecotect 2011 (Free download for students/faculty)
- Geco Version: 1.0.36.0 (Plug-in for Grasshopper to pass data to/from Ecotect)
Description: The Ecotect + Grasshopper workshop will focus on producing difference within surface conditions based on user-defined values and environmental analysis data. Participants will work through examples using an array of surface geometry that will be responding to conditions either defined by the user, with a set of attractor elements or through Ecotect + Grasshopper + Geco to produce geometry that performs optimally within a specific location on earth through the use of solar radiation analysis. Emphasis will be placed on programatic and environmental performance, resulting in responsive and intelligent geometry and building envelopes.
